Apart from model trains and electronics. My other interest is photography.
After nearly 30 years as a electronics engineer, I decided a life change was needed and I became a professional photographer. This I did for 15 years. ending up running a large hire studio in Cambridgeshire. Following a breakdown I moved out of the studio got rid of all the equipment with the exception of one Nikon camera and a couple of lenses. Vowing never to pick up another camera with the intention of taking a creative photo.
In 2016 I started to build model trains, and shortly after that I needed to start taking photos purely as a means of recording what I was doing.
Looking at other people’s model and train photography, I got interested in creatively photographing trains in general real and model.
That’s where I am at the moment. At the time of writing this in February 2019 and not the best weather to venture out into the wide world. As the weather improves i’m planning to visit some of the many preservation railways in the UK and do some photography. As they say watch this space!
